ENGAGEMENT

Caroline Leigh Privette and Tyler Baines Abernathy FLORENCE - Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Maurice Privette announce the engagement of their daughter, Caroline Leigh, to Tyler Baines Abernathy, son of Mr. and Mrs. Danner Sherwood Abernathy of Gaffney.

Miss Privette is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Barney Privette of Hartsville and the late Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall Hudson. A student at the University of South Carolina, she expects to graduate in May with a B.A. degree in advertising and a minor in dance.

Mr. Abernathy is the grandson of Emma Garner Baines, Mary Wright Abernathy, all of Gaffney, the late John Thomas Baines Jr. and the late Fay Sherwood Abernathy. A graduate of University of South Carolina with B.A. degree in history and a Master's in Teaching in Secondary Education, he is employed by Richland School District No. 2 and teaches seventh grade World History at Blythewood Middle School.

The wedding is planned for June 7 at Calvary Baptist Church in Florence.
