Victim of accidental shooting recovering, relative says

A Cowpens man who sustained an accidental gunshot wound to his arm last Tuesday is recovering well, according to a family member.

The 55-year-old resident of Crenshaw Road, who is paralyzed on his right side, was reaching for clothing from a closet shelf when his gun fell from the shelf to the floor and fired upon impact. The bullet struck the man in his left arm, the family member said, but luckily missed all bones in his good arm.

Doctors placed the man on antibiotics to guard against infection, the family member said.
