¦ The Cherokee County Republican Party will meet Thursday, Feb. 14, from 6-7 p.m. at Republican headquarters. Brenda Neal will update members on the Fifth District convention in Rock Hill and the state convention.

Benefit

¦ A house shower for Troy and Brenda Williams of Blacksburg, who lost their home and all their possessions in a fire on Jan. 30, will be held Saturday, Feb. 16, from 2-4 p.m. at Christian Heights Fellowship Building on Sixth Street in Gaffney. All items will be greatly appreciated. SunTrust Bank is taking monetary donations for the family at their location on West Floyd Baker Boulevard.

¦ Love Springs Baptist Church in Cowpens will have a benefit for a church family on Saturday, Feb. 16. A spaghetti supper will be served at 6 p.m. and a singing featuring 2 For 1 of Cowpens will begin at 7:30 p.m. Donations only. Everyone welcome. For more information, call 864-463- 3068.

¦ Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Blacksburg will have a dedication ceremony and hold its first worship service in its new sanctuary on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 11 a.m. A Community Celebration Day and Open House is planned Sunday, April 13. The Rev. Jason T. Patterson, interim pastor, invites the public to attend.

¦ The Gospel Messengers will be in concert Saturday, Feb. 16, at 6:30 p.m. at Limestone Missionary Baptist Church. Everyone welcome.

¦ In celebration of Black History Month, the Drama Ministry of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church will present "We've Come A Long Way," written by Gwen Jennings, on Saturday, Feb. 23, at 6 p.m.
