25 talented youths are featured in 'Alice in Wonderland' at Gaffney Little Theatre
Emily Rose and Makalyn Martin appear as Tweedle- Dum and Tweedle Dee in the Gaffney Children's Theatre production of Alice in Wonderland - the Musical. The show plays Friday and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. and continues next week, Feb. 28- March 1, at the Gaffney Little Theatre on East Robinson Street. One of the delights of the 2008 Gaffney Little Theatre season is Alice in Wonderland - the Musical, which began Thursday evening. The show will run today and Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with additional shows next week, Feb. 28, 29 and March 1, also at 7:30 p.m.
This spectacular version of the beloved musical features a 25-member cast of Gaffney Children's Theatre, including students from most of the Gaffney elementary schools and a number from Blacksburg schools and the Village School of Gaffney. Music for the two-act show was arranged by Bryan Louiselle, with the book adapted by David Simpatico.
Ali Henderson plays the lead role of Alice. Other principals include Ally McCurry as the White Rabbit, Willa Boothe as the Caterpillar; Donovan Davis as the Dodo Bird; Anne Zimmerman, Bessie Godfrey and Breanna Conwell as the Cheshire Cats; Ashley Zimmerman as Tall Alice; and Avery Roberson as Short Alice.
The play is produced by agreement with Walt Disney Productions.
Alice in Wonderland is produced and directed by Phil Gibbons and Stephanie Turner, with lighting by Sue Gibbons, sound effects by Gui Lherme Gromowski and set design and construction by Gale Jackson.
