Cleveland County native; sister of Blacksburg resident

SHELBY - Geneva Goode Dawkins, 88, died Sunday morning in Wendover Hospice, Shelby.

Widow of Jim Dawkins, she was born in Cleveland County, N.C., a daughter of the late Jeff Goode and Everlina Thompson Goode. She was a member of Salvation Gospel for Souls Mission Church in Shelby.

Surviving are a daughter, Georgianna Tate (Robert) of Shelby; a sister, Irene Black of Blacksburg; and 11 grandchildren.

Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. in Gilmore Mortuary Chapel with Pastor Ann Jennings officiating. Interment will follow in Webb Memorial Gardens, Shelby.

The family is at the home of Georgianna and Robert Tate, 1807 Riveria Drive, Shelby.
