and The Joylites

COWPENS - William Berry Palmer, 41, of 116 Bambi Trail, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, in Mary Black Hospital.

Husband of Ruthie Gladney Palmer, he was born in Cherokee County, a son of Johnny W. Palmer and Stella Warrens Palmer. He was a member and musician of True Holiness Church. He also served as musician for The Harmonettes, Southland Troubadors and The Joylites.

Also surviving are four sons, Patrick Vercher, Brandon McDowell, Rashud Palmer and Demond Waters; a daughter, Brena McDowell; a brother, Terry Palmer (Patsy); and a sister, Lisa Crook (Allen).

A singing will be held in his honor today at 6 p.m. at True Holiness Church.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Island Creek Baptist Church with Overseer T.A. Lockhart officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be placed in the church Saturday at 1 p.m.
