BLACKSBURG - Ralph Jennings Jr., 60, of 215 Academy St., passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Regional Hospice Home in Spartanburg.

A native of Blacksburg, he was the son of the late Ralph Jennings Sr. and the late Rosella Bolin Jennings. He was a veteran of Vietnam and a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Blacksburg. He graduated in 1965 from Granard High School and was retired from Cherokee County School District No. 1.

Surviving are a son, Ralph Jennings III of the home; two daughters, Sonya Jennings Smith of Blacksburg and Kimberly Jennings of Gaffney; a stepdaughter, Teresa Jefferies of Gaffney; two brothers, Thomas Jennings of Blacksburg and John Jennings of Columbia; six grandchildren and a host of other relatives.

Services will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Pastor Van Williams and others officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.
