Indians return to Byrnes for showcase

      The Gaffney Indians will return to Byrnes High School's Nixon Field, but it won't be during the regular season. And the Indians won't be playing the defending Class 4A champion Rebels. Byrnes has agreed to host the preseason Border Showcase Classic IV on Aug. 15, according to organizer and Polk County High School football coach Bruce Ollis.

Limestone shocks conference-leading Mount Olive
STAFF REPORTS
      No. 11 Mount Olive cut a 14-point second half deficit down to five points with two minutes left, but Limestone held on to upset the Trojans 75-65 in Conference Carolinas men's basketball Saturday at Kornegay Arena. Andrae Franklin led Limestone with 20 points and a game-high 15 rebounds.
