Chance Justin McDaniel and Jennifer Leigh Hames Jennifer Leigh Hames and Chance Justin McDaniel announce their engagement. An April 26 wedding is planned.

Miss Hames is the daughter of Nancy and Wayne Patterson of Earl, N.C., and Ronnie Hames of Oxford, Mich. She is the maternal granddaughter of Ruth McDermet of Blacksburg and the late Edward McDermet who lived in Portsmouth, Va. Her paternal grandparents are Sue Hames of Blacksburg and the late Nevils Lee Hames. A 2005 graduate of Blacksburg High School, she is currently attending Spartanburg Community College.

Mr. McDaniel is the son of Lorna McDaniel of Blacksburg and the late Lee Edward McDaniel. His maternal grandparents are Ruby Lee of Blacksburg and the late Clarence Lee. He is the paternal grandson of Iva Lee McDaniel of Blacksburg. He graduated in 2002 from Blacksburg High School, studied Machine Tool at Cleveland Community College and served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist from 2003-2006, with a tour of duty in Iraq from 2005-2006.
