Moss moving closer to picking staff

      New Blacksburg High football coach Mickey Moss plans to have his staff in place within 10 days. Moss said two members of his current Wren High School staff will join him at Blacksburg. "We are just trying to work out the details," he said.

Pfeiffer ousts Saints

      Pfeiffer didn't wait long to get revenge. Just three days after losing at Limestone, Pfeiffer defeated the Saints 86-80 in the first round of the Conference Carolinas tournament on Monday. The Saints end their season with a 10-17 overall record while the Falcons improve to 21-7 on the season.

      For first-year Gaffney High golf coach Todd Coggins, the Outback Invitational was an encouraging start for his team. The Indians shot a 319 to finish eighth out of 24 teams. Dutch Fork won the event with a 295.

      CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Team owner Rick Hendrick thinks NASCAR should not return to Las Vegas Motor Speedway until the retaining wall Jeff Gordon slammed into is improved. Special barriers are located in the outside walls at Las Vegas. But the track did not install them along the inside wall, which the four-time NASCAR champion hit in the closing laps Sunday.
