Another restaurant coming to Floyd Baker Boulevard

By LARRY HILLIARD Ledger Staff Writer larry@gaffneyledger.com

Gaffney's version of restaurant row soon will be adding another popular fast food option.

Chick fil-A, which popularized the chicken sandwich, is in the process of purchasing property on Floyd Baker Boulevard and Maple Street, sources close to the negotiations said. Chick fil-A representatives have visited the site on several occasions, sources have said.

The company is now performing a title search on the property and is soon expected to close on the property, according to the sources.

A telephone message left for the Chick fil-A official who handles acquisitions for this area wasn't returned.

Several attempts to reach landowner George Horne were unsuccessful.

City officials said they have received no site or building plans, but a utility official confirmed that Chick fil-A representatives have walked the property.

Already located in that area of Floyd Baker are Wendy's, Taco Bell, Bojangles, Lighthouse Family Restaurant and the Super China Buffet.
