Vaughn propels Limestone to 17-5 win over Adelphi

The No. 3 Limestone College men's lacrosse team cruised to a 17-5 win over Adelphi University on Saturday afternoon at Saints Field.

The Saints improve to 4-0 overall while the Panthers fall to 1-2.

Limestone outshot Adelphi 47-27.

Limestone's Allen Vaughn scored a game-high six goals. Brendan Storrier and Justin Haworth recorded three goals apiece for the Saints.

Sam Buppert, Thomas Langan, Mike Poerstel, Jeff Santo and Neil Harris also scored for Limestone.

Storrier paced the Saints with three assists while Jake Rogalia tallied two.

Saint goalkeeper James Tuohy posted 12 saves.

Dale Pescitelli scored three goals for Adelphi, and Edward Ege and Marc Burton each scored once.

Adelphi goalkeeper Drew Smith had nine saves, while Devin Schneiderbauer (Pepperell, Mass.) had four.

Limestone hosts St. Leo on Tuesday, March 11 at 1 p.m. at Saints Field.
