      Dear Editor: Charles Bumgarner wrote an excellent letter to the editor pertaining to the Pentagon accepting a bid to have Air Force tanker jets built in Europe. Boeing's bid was higher, but since when has any branch of government been conscientious of how they spend taxpayers' money?

They have worked wonders with him
      Dear Editor: This letter is in response to Patty Linton's Feb. 22 letter about the S.C. School for the Deaf and the Blind. I totally agree with her. As the mother of a deaf and mute son, I thank God for SCSDB. My son has been going there since he was 2 1/2. He is now 14 and is 6 feet, 4 inches tall and still growing. They have worked wonders with him.
