Alice in Wonderland production an overwhelming success

2008-03-19 / Letters

Dear Editor:

We thank you for allowing us to express our appreciation and apologies.

First we want to thank all those parents, grandparents, friends and volunteers who helped make the Gaffney Children's Theatre production of Alice in Wonderland such an overwhelming success. And to express our appreciation to those wonderful young people who have the performances of their lives on the Gaffney Little Theatre stage for 11 shows.

We want to express our regrets also that we were unable to accommodate all of you in and outside the county who wanted to see a performance but were unable to obtain a reservation. These 26 young people on the stage and those behind the scenes gave four school shows, six regular night performances and a special holdover show as a Sunday matinee, and all to sold-out houses.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Cherokee County School District One for their cooperation and participation and to a corporate sponsor who wishes to remain anonymous.

We certainly want to express our gratitude to the Blacksburg Times, The Gaffney Ledger, the Spartanburg Herald-Journal and WEAC radio, who assisted with publicity for the show. We are all very grateful to you.

And for the adult, youth and children's theatre boards we want to thank the Milliken Research Center for their gifts of lighting and staging equipment that we will be able to use and to share with our schools and with Limestone College when they have need for any of it.

To all of you who continue to support our efforts we say thank you and to remind you that our Youth Theatre will present The Stuck Pot from April 17-20.

Board of directors, Gaffney Children's Theatre
