      Services for Jonathan Laray Huskey, 40, of 1471 Enterprise Drive, Hinesville, Ga., will be held Thursday, March 20, at 2 p.m. at Youngs Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Larry J. Brooks officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview A.M.E Zion Church Cemetery in Earl, N.C., with military rites. Body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m.

      BLACKSBURG - Sandra Joyce Fitzgerald, 63, of 137 Pine Grove Road, died Friday, March 14, 2008, at her home. A native of Shelby, Mrs. Fitzgerald was the widow of Bill Fitzgerald and daughter of Alda Mae Philbeck Grigg of Blacksburg and the late Benjamin Edward Grigg. She retired from Oxford Industries and was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.

Both in Rutherford County, N.C., he was the widower of Vinessa Surratt Mercer and son of the late Benjamin Mercer and the late Isabella Whittenburg Mercer.

      Mary Mozelle Smith Kennedy, 90, of Brookview Healthcare Center, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Brookview. Born in Lavonia, Ga., she was the widow of J. C. Hayes and Lee Kennedy and daughter of the late Leonard Smith and Lillie LeCroy Smith. She was a retired certified nursing assistant and a member of Christian Heights Baptist Church.

      Malcolm James Ready, 65, of 200 York Road, passed away March 17, 2008, at his home. Born in Roanoke, Va., he was the son of the late Donald A. Ready and Hazel Morrell Ready and lifelong partner of Peter J. Imondi. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from Narragansett Screw Company.

Born Aug. 15, 1918, in Gaffney, he was the second son of 10 children born to the late James Franklin Manning and the late Stella Humphries Manning. He received his early education in Cherokee County and Granard High School.
