Barbara Ann Wilson
BLACKSBURG - Barbara Ann Wilson, 65, of 205 S. Shelby St., died early Monday morning, March 17, 2008, at home surrounded by her loving husband and family.
Born in Tazewell, Tenn., she was the wife of Milas E. Wilson of the home and daughter of the late James Woodrow and Verlie Bolin Mink. She was retired from National Textiles.
In addition to Milas, her husband of 43 years, she is survived by four sons, Keith Wilson and wife, Sandra, of Blacksburg, Larry Wilson and wife, Rita, of Blacksburg, Darrell Wilson and wife, Melanie, of Fallston, N.C., and Ronnie Bartley and wife, Jean, of Eau Claire, Wisc.; three daughters, Gail Peterson and husband, John, of Grover, N.C., Melissa Robertson and husband, Jeff, of Blacksburg, Glenda Cook and husband, Bobby, of Gaffney; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Oliver Bolin of Tazewell, Tenn., and Jack Mink of Charlotte, N.C.; and two sisters, Bobbie Lowery and Sue Philbeck, both of Bessemer, City, N.C.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by two sons, Timothy Wilson and David Wilson.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Thursday, March 20, at 3 p.m. at Broad River Baptist Church, conducted by the Rev. Eric Nixon. Burial will follow in Clingman Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 19, from 6-8 p.m. at White Columns and at other times they will be at the home.
Pallbearers will be Joe Craig, William Wilson, Charles Peterson, William D. Wilson (Bru), Dean Wilson and Chris Trusty.
Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers, including John Michael Wilson and Hunter Robertson.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 901 S. Pine St., Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.
C. Cline Gore and family of White Columns are entrusted with arrangements.
