Mary Mozelle Smith Kennedy, 90, of Brookview Healthcare Center, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2008, at Brookview.

Born in Lavonia, Ga., she was the widow of J. C. Hayes and Lee Kennedy and daughter of the late Leonard Smith and Lillie LeCroy Smith. She was a retired certified nursing assistant and a member of Christian Heights Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Don Ray Hayes and wife, Margo, of Durham, N.C., and Loyd Dean Hayes and wife, Aljean, of Gaffney; two daughters, Phyllis Bradshaw and husband, Charles. of Forest City, N.C., and Shelby Jean Horvath of Gaffney; a sister, Hazel Wilkie of Gaffney; 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, David Goode.

Services will be held Friday, March 21, at 2 p.m. in Blakely Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Randy McCraw. Interment will be in Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.
