Celtics stop
Rockets' run
The shots stopped falling, Boston's stars took over and just like that, the Houston Rockets' 22-game winning streak was history.
Kevin Garnett scored 22 points and Paul Pierce added 20 as the Celtics beat the Rockets 94-74 on Tuesday night, stopping Houston's remarkable victory run.
Gaffney jv golfers
edge Dorman
.The Gaffney High junior varsity golf team remained unbeaten Tuesday with an impressive one-shot victory over Dorman at Cherokee National.
The Indians shot a166. Dorman posted a 167.
Dorman's Davis West was the medalist with a 37.
Chevy Hartzog was the Indians' top finisher with a 40. Gaffney's David Hopper shot a 41, while Cabrick Waters had a 42 and EJ Blanton had a 43 to round out the Indians' scoring.
"We knew going into the match that Dorman was going to be a measuring stick for our program," Gaffney coach Dustin Kite said. "Dorman normally has one of the top teams year in and year out. We have one of the youngest jayvee teams in the state, so hopefully this is an indication of how well the varsity could be the next couple of years. The kids were a little nervous at first but really improved as the match went on. We have been playing pretty good golf as a team and hopefully it will continue into next week as we host the Indian Invitational Tournament at Cherokee National."
