CLEAN UP TIME - Janesky Construction Co. recently adopted North Shelby Street in Blacksburg as a part of the state's Adopt-A- Highway program. Despite the rainy start Saturday, 10 volunteers showed up early and picked up almost 30 bags of trash along with about 25 old tires, a mattress and a few hundred pounds of scrap metal. "Thanks to the efforts of our volunteers we really cleaned up the roadside and made it a better place," company owner Darren Janesky said. "Following the clean up my company hosted a picnic for those who helped. It was a great day and very rewarding to all of us."
