Dan Bostic

Taught school for 37 years at Chesnee High School

 
Dan Bostic, 77, of 933 Cliffside Hwy., died Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at his residence.

A native of Cleveland County, N.C., he was the husband of Jacqueline Collins Bostic and the son of the late Claude I. and Effie Lowery Bostic. He was a member of State Line Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, a Sunday School teacher, a choir member and RA leader.

Mr. Bostic had a master's degree in education and taught school for 37 years at Chesnee High School. He was a licensed Baptist minister and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Donna Estepp and husband, Ronnie, of Gaffney; a son, Danny Earl Bostic of Gaffney; three sisters, Clara Beason, Grace Greene, both of Shelby, and Dorothy Cunningham of LaJolla, Calif.; two brothers, Albert Bostic of Gaffney and Robert Bostic of Mooresville, N.C.; three grandchildren, Danny Bostic Jr., and wife, Molly, Monica and Bethany Estepp; and one great-grandson, Isaac Bostic.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Bostic was preceded in death by a son, Michael Arthur Bostic; six sisters and four brothers.

Services will be held Friday, March 21, at 3 p.m. at State Line Baptist Church, conducted by the Revs. Eddie Bolin, Charlie Blackwell and Bobby Lindsey. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation was held Thursday, March 20, from 7-9 p.m. at Eggers Funeral Home of Chesnee.

The family is at the residence.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to State Line Baptist Church Building Fund, 1328 State Line Road, Gaffney, S.C. 29341; or to Spartanburg Regional Hospice, 120 Heywood Ave., Suite 300, Spartanburg, S.C. 29302.
