Team Indian Wrestling has advanced to the AAU national championship in Columbus, Ohio.

The local wrestling team, with members ranging in ages from four to 14, qualified for the national tournament by finishing in the top four at the AAU state championships on March 8 and 15.

The team captured a first place, six second places, three third places and five fourth places.

Three wrestlers qualified for other honors.

Zack Clary and Chase Delashmet both qualified for Team Palmetto in their weight class and age group (Midget Division) and traveled to Hoover, Ala., to compete in the Dixie Duals on March 15.

Delashmet also competed in the wrestle-offs and performed well enough to be selected for the other Tram Palmetto team that will be representing South Carolina in Kingsport, Tenn., at the duals national championship in early April.

Clary was the only gold medalist and undefeated wrestler in his age group this season. Wrestling against competition from South Carolina, Georgia and North Carolina, he has compiled more than 40 wins.

Dillon Haney qualified for the MS Team Palmetto that will travel to Iowa and Kingsport to represent the state in the national championships.
