L'Etoile Club honors senior members
New members for 2008-2009 are welcomed at recent tea
      Members of the L'Etoile Club recently gathered for a tea to honor their senior members and welcome new members. The event was held at The Magnolia Tea Room in Gaffney. Senior officers for the 2007-2008 year are Tessie Woodlief, president; Hannah Wood, treasurer; Keely Coyle, secretary; and Sally Ann McCraw, chaplain.

     CLOGGING TEAM WINS GRAND CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS - The Southern Jewels Sapphire 2 Clogging Team of Julia's Dance Company recently won the Grand Championship Award in its last two clogging competitions. The dancers won the overall award at the Winter Clogging Classic held in Saluda, N C., on March 1 and the Smokey Mountain Encore Clogging Competition in Gatlinburg, Tenn., on March 8. Members of the team are (l-r) Lauren Fowler, Kaitlan Queen, Amber Wallace, Kennedy Downs (team captain), Morgan Holmes, Anna McMakin, Olivia Phillips, Katelyn Smith, Logan Scoggins, Halley Gainey, Tanner Griffin, Caitlyn Benson and Alexis Wilson (team captain).       BLACKSBURG - The Rev. and Mrs. James E. Clark Sr. renewed their marriage vows on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2008, at Blacksburg Church of God. The Rev. James Garner performed the ceremony. Rev. and Mrs. Clark were married on Feb. 22, 1958.

     STATE CHAMPION GYMNAST - Maci Rebecca Bolin of Rock Hill is the state champion on the uneven bars in Level 4 gymnastics for the nine-year-old age group. In the competition, she also placed second in the all-around category, receiving fourth on vault and seventh on beam. The state meet was held March 14-16 in Myrtle Beach. Maci competes with Thomas Gymnastics in Rock Hill. She is the daughter of Eric and Kristi Bolin and granddaughter of Bobby Dean Parker of Blacksburg, Max Daniel and Joanne Bolin of Smyrna, and the late Phyllis Clary Parker. Her greatgrandmother is Lula Hodges Clary, also of Blacksburg.

To find locations of Narcotics Anonymous meetings call the Narcotics Anonymous Helpline at 1-800-828-568. A group meets at St. Paul's Lutheran Church on Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 6 p.m.
