Former employee of Brookview HealthCare

Thomas Edward Dawkins, 56, of 1021 N. Granard St., died Sunday, March 23, 2008, at his home.

Born in Gaffney, he was a son of Quincy Wilkins Dawkins of Gaffney and the late Jack Butler Dawkins. He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church, a 1969 graduate of Gaffney High School and a former employee of Brookview HealthCare.

Also surviving are his wife, Janice Corry Dawkins of Columbia; two sons, Tyler Dawkins of the home and Sydney Dawkins of Gaffney; a daughter, Tomaneisha Dawkins of Gaffney; companion, Felicia Haney of the home; brothers, the Rev. Lionel Dawkins (Carolyn) of Spartanburg, Milton Dawkins (Addie Fay) and Bernard Dawkins of Gaffney, Donnie Dawkins (Margaret) of Charlotte, N.C.; four sisters, Virginia Hunt of Brooklyn, N.Y., Darlene Littlejohn (Jimmy) of Newark, N.J., Nancy Dawkins (Reid) of Cowpens and Deborah Israel of Jerusalem; and a grandson, Raheem.

Services will be held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Limestone Baptist Church with the Rev. James Patton officiating. Interment will be in Gaffney Memorial Park. Body will be placed in the church at noon.

The family is at his home and at the home of his mother, 803 W. Fairview Ave.
