Local Gamecock Club
meeting April 8
The Spartanburg-Cherokee- Greenville Gamecock clubs will hold its spring meeting at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium Tuesday, April 8, with dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. and the program starting at 7 p.m. The guest speakers will be Steve Spurrier and administrative staff. Tickets are now on sale for $20 each and must be purchased by April 3.

Lady Indians
Broome scored all the runs it would need in the fifth inning to beat the visiting Gaffney High softball team, 2-0, on Tuesday.
Courtney Campbell and Megan Standridge had the only hits for the Lady Indians, who drop to 13-5.
Gaffney will travel to Dorman on Thursday.
Limestone loses
7th straight game
West Virginia State handed Limestone its seventh consecutive loss in baseball action on Tuesday afternoon at Bob Prevatte Field. Trailing 3-1 entering the ninth inning, WVSU scored five runs to win the game, 6-3.
Eric Workman picked up the win, striking out five and giving up four hits in a four-inning relief stint.
Jordan Liette took the loss after giving up four hits and two earned runs in 1 2/3 innings of work.
The Saints' Justin Moore was 2-4 with one run scored. Zach Watkins was 2-5 at bat with a RBI and one run scored. Adam McSwain also was 2-4 with 2 doubles.

The Limestone College softball team split a Conference Carolinas doubleheader with Queens University on Tuesday at Lady Saints Field.
The Saints defeated Queens handily in game one, 8-1. The two teams were tied at 6 at the end of seven innings and were forced to go into extra innings, where the Royals put up 5 runs to take the nightcap 11-6.
