Retired from Hamrick Mills

Deacon Johnny Logan, 92, of 210 Webster St., passed away Monday, March 24, 2008, at 7 a.m. at his home.

A native of Cherokee County, he was the widower of Lona Mae Thomas Logan and son of the late Will and Carline Jenkins Logan. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church, American Woodman Association No. 1 and Bethel Day Care. He was an original member of the Logan Sunrise Quartet and was retired from Hamrick Mills.

Surviving are a daughter, Ollie Hollis of Gaffney; Jesse Logan of Moore and Kenneth Thomas of Union, whom he reared as his sons; a sister, Illa McFadden of Buffalo, N.Y.; a step-brother, J.C. Littlejohn of Gaffney; a step-sister, Bertha Robinson of Gaffney; a niece who was like a daughter, Ruby Corry of the home; seven grandchildren; a host of greatgrandchildren; three greatgreat grandchildren; and his caregiver for 40 years, Ethelene Davidson.

Services will be held Thursday, March 27, at 3 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Alice Littlejohn, Minister Angel Corry and Minister Anita Sullivan. Interment will be in New Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery. Body will be placed in the church at 2 p.m.

Pallbearers will be deacons, friends and Ernest Dawkins.
