WHAT'S UP Church news Draytonville Baptist Church will have a fifth Sunday night singing March 30 featuring New Song and Higher Praise of First Baptist Church. Bethany Baptist Church will have its fifth Sunday singing March 30 during the 11 a.m. worship service. CrosStar from Blacksburg will be featured. The trio consists of Stephanie Bettis, Beverly Hodge and Chris Raines with Gaston Bettis in charge of sound. Bethany will have a community-wide pancake supper at 6 p.m. Sunday. Everyone is invited to come to this "get to know your neighbor" time of fellowship. All food will be provided by the church and there is no charge for the supper. Church on East Meadow Street will have a gospel singing March 29 at 6 p.m. for its building fund. Featured will be Royal Six, Southland Troubadours and Joylights of Gaffney; Silver Trumpets of Woodruff; Men of Faith of Chesnee; One Accord of Spartanburg; and others. The Rev. Sister E.D. Lawson is pastor at Mitchell Chapel. The YWAs of Limestone Missionary Baptist Church will have their annual YWA program March 30 at 3 p.m. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Teresa Black, pastor of Holy Temple Baptist Church, Cowpens. Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church will have a special program, "100 Men and More in Black United Together as Strong Black Men," March 30 at 4 p.m. Michael Bridges, pastor of Concord Baptist Church, will be the speaker. The Liturgical Praise Dance Ministry of Bethel Baptist Church will celebrate its first anniversary March 30 at 5:30 p.m. Several praise dance teams from the area will participate on the program. The Thickety Mountain Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education will have its annual seminar session March 31-April 2 from 5- 8:45 p.m. at the associational building, 1505 Old Post Road. The theme is "How to Cope with the Storms of Life." Classes for all ages will be provided. The Senior Missionaries and YWAs of Thickety Mountain Baptist Association will have their fifth Sunday program March 30 at 2:30 p.m. at the association building, 1505 Old Post Road. Churches on the program will be Ebenezer, Philadelphia, Mt. Tabor and Shady Grove. Gospel singings Chesnee Music Center will have a singing March 29 featuring Faith Walkers 4 of Asheboro, N.C. Tony Burchette will sing March 30 at Crowell Memorial in Vale, N.C., at 9:30 a.m. That night 6, he will be at Westover Baptist Church in Kings Mountain. Notices SCDOT maintenance crews in Cherokee County will be out in full force during the agency's Carolina Spring Clean Week, April 14- 18, picking up litter from along sections of highways throughout the county. During the week, crews will pick up litter from along US29, SC18, SC5, SC105, SC150, SC216, US221, US221-A and SC211. Senior events Hooks and Needles with Love is looking for new members to knit or crochet items to be given to those who might need hats, scarves, etc. The group's next meeting will be Monday, March 31, from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Gaffney Senior Center.
