Betty Mae Norris, 78, of 303 Marion Ave., departed this life Saturday, March 22, 2008, at Upstate Carolina Medical Center. Born May 4, 1941, in Rutherford, N.C., she was the daughter of the late Willie Norris and the late Alice Plee Norris. Surviving are her companion, Willie Tuft, of the home; four who were reared as children, Sara Phillips, Carolyn Tuft, Linda Tuft and Duck Tuft, all of Gaffney; three sisters, Stella Palmer of Cowpens, Lula Mae Milliotire of Norfolk, Va., and Rosa Moore of Mooresboro, N.C.; a brother, Harold Dean Norris of Charlotte; and a host of other relatives.
