Fund raisers
Broad River Baptist Church will be selling barbecue plates Saturday, April 19. Cost is $7 per plate. Barbecue sandwiches will also be sold during the Iron City Festival for $3. A multi family yard sale will be in the parking lot of the church. All proceeds will go to help fund a mission trip.
Church news
The Shady Grove Baptist Church Youth Ministry will have its monthly Youth Day service Sunday, April 13. Speaker at the 11 a.m. worship service will be Reginald Littlejohn, associate minister of the Mt. Sinai Baptist Church. The church's youths and young adults will be in charge of all activities, beginning with Sunday School at 9:45. The Shady Grove Praise Singers will provide special music.
The Shady Grove deaconess, ministers and trustees' wives will have a fashion and hat show Sunday, April 13, at 4 p.m. Men, women, teens and children will model traditional and latest styles in church attire. Special entertainment, including a religious comedian, liturgical praise performers, soloist and others, will provide intermission entertainment. Qualified judges will be present and prizes will be awarded. Persons wishing to model should contact Cynthia Pearson, 864-902-8850. A $5 donation is requested. The public is invited to attend.
Allen Temple C.M.E. Church and the church choir will worship with Mitchell's Chapel, 422 E. Meadow St., on April 13 at 3 p.m.
The Sunbeam/Junior Choir of Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church will celebrate its 47th anniversary Sunday, April 13, at 4 p.m.
Meetings
Granard High School Class of 1964 will meet Saturday, April 12, at 9 a.m. at the VFW Post on Martin Luther King Street. All classmates are asked to attend.
The Cherokee County Republican Women's Club will meet April 14 at the Limestone College dining hall at 11:45 a.m. Guest speaker will be Deb Sofield, a motivational speaker who currently serves on the Water Commission. She is also a former member of the Greenville City Council. Everyone welcome.
The Cherokee County Branch of the NAACP will meet Monday, April 14, a Westside Full Gospel Church at 7 p.m.
Gospel singings
An all-day gospel singing will be held Saturday, April 12, from 12-6 p.m. at Chesnee Music Center. Hot dogs, chips and drinks will be available. For more information, call 828-202-5603 or 828-223-1514.
