Limestone professor to present research in England
FELICIA CAVALLINI Limestone Associate Professor of Physical Education Dr. Felicia Cavallini has been invited to make a presentation on obesity in England. Cavallini's abstract on research she and colleagues have done earned them an invitation to the 4th National Conference on Obesity and Health at Aston University in England on April 28-29.
Her abstract, "Relation of Physical Activity Level to Knowledge of Cardiovascular Risk Factors of Heart Disease, Barriers to Physical Activity, Gender and Acculturation in the Hispanic Population," was chosen among submissions from across the globe.
Cavallini's research on obesity prevention has recently been published in the October 2007 issue of the Journal of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance. Cavallini also participated in a symposium on the issue last March.
The study will also be included in the coming Obesity and Health Conference Research Book.
Her fellow researchers include Janice Wendt of the University of Houston and Desmond Rice of Bin Fahd University in Saudi Arabia.
Cavallini has been on the Limestone faculty since 2005 and holds an Ed.D. from the University of Houston, a B.A. from Rice University and a Master's from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
