WHAT'S UP

Festivals

The Village School of Gaffney will have a Spring Festival Saturday, April 19, from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. at the Cherokee County Museum (old Central School). Everyone is invited. Admission is $5 for children for games and adults are free. There will be snowcones, funnel cakes, cakewalks, games, food, a live band, inflatables, a live gift basket auction, vendors and more.

Church news

A youth revival is being held through April 17 at 7 p.m. at New Mount Zion Baptist Church, 154 Roundtree Road. Speaker Wednesday, April 16, will be the Rev. Barbara Dawkins and speaker Thursday, April 17, will be the Rev. Stephania Norris. A trustee program will be held April 27 at 3 p.m. Guests will be Pastor Michael Bridges and the Concord Baptist Church family.

Meetings

Moses Wood Camp 125 Sons of Confederate Veterans will hold its regular meeting Thursday, April 17, at 7 p.m. at 1746 N. Limestone St. There will be food available at 6 p.m. for a small donation. Speaker will be Dr. Kaemmerlen whose topic will be surgical instruments and procedures used during the war. All members are urged to attend.

Gospel singing

Draytonville Baptist Church will have a Relay for Life singing Friday, April 18 at 7 p.m. A quartet from Blacksburg, Sylvia Swayngim, an ensemble from Temple Baptist and a youth group from Calvary Baptist will be guests. Cost is $5 and all donations will go to Relay for Life.

Support groups

AA meetings are held at 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the building behind Limestone Methodist Church on Carlisle Street. If you have a problem with alcohol, you are welcome to attend.
