Jack Roper and The Weatherman Band will perform Saturday at the Iron City Festival in Blacksburg. The group will perform from the gazebo from 1-1:45 p.m. and again from 2:15-3 p.m.

BLACKSBURG - Jack Roper and The Weatherman Band will be at the Iron City Festival on Saturday, April 19.

The band will perform at the gazebo from 1-1:45 p.m. and 2:15-3 p.m. Roper will present a magic show from 1:45-2:15 p.m.

The band features a wide variety of music, including classic rock 'n' roll, rhythm 'n' blues, and beach.

The group includes Jack Roper on drums and sax. A Union County native, Roper has been with NewsChannel 7 for 21 years. Performing magic and music are his loves.Ronnie Hayes plays lead guitar and sings.Ronnie also hails from Union County. Andre Kerr plays keyboard and is lead singer. The bass player and backup singer is Pickle Eaves.Both Kerr and Eaves are Upstate residents and have toured with Otis Redding and Billy Joe Royal.

Performance times for other groups on hand at the festival include: Possum Trotters, 9:30-10:30 a.m.; Paul Black, 10:30-11:30 a.m.; Carolina Thunder, 11:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.; and WhoDoo, 12:45 p.m. until.
