Virginia Caroline Lewis Smith, 75, a resident of Peachtree Centre, formerly of Anthony Street, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 13, 2008 at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Greenwood, she was the widow of the late Dan L. Smith and daughter of the late George L. Lewis and Mary Watkins Lewis. Mrs. Smith was retired from Springs Industries and was a member of Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church. She was a former member of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by a son, Dane Smith and wife, Diane, of Gaffney; a daughter, Sharon Miller and husband, Bill, of Gaffney; a sister, Leila Allison of Gaffney; four grandchildren, Dana Ramsey and husband, Shane, of Blacksburg, Kelly Estes and husband, Sean, of Rock Hill, Kevin Smith and wife, Brooke, of Gaffney and Jenifer Richards and husband, Kevin, of Gaffney; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 16, from 2:30-4 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home. Services will be held in the funeral home chapel at 4 p.m., immediately following the visitation, and will be conducted by Dr. Clyde Thomas. Interment will be in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
