Libbie Cheek, a lifelong resident of Cherokee County, has been hired as the Cherokee County Relationship Manager for United Way of the Piedmont. This position entails assisting with workplace campaigns, the community investment process and volunteer activities. She also will help facilitate relationships with other local nonprofits.

A graduate of Gaffney High and Limestone College, Cheek has a B.A. in Social Work and was most recently employed as an early intervention specialist with the Cherokee County Department of Disabilities & Special Needs Board. She serves as president of a local family support group for the Army National Guard, is host to a 4- H group for children and is on the Emergency Food and Shelter Program .
