Miss Poole, Mr. Harrison married in January
MRS. RICHARD DEAN HARRISON JR. (KELLEY AMANDA POOLE) Kelley Amanda Poole and Richard Dean Harrison Jr. were united in marriage on Jan. 26, 2008, at New Heights Baptist Church. The Rev. Dr. Richard Harrison and the Rev. Sidney Norton officiated the 5 p.m. double ring ceremony.
A reception, given by the bride's parents, followed at Grassy Pond Fire Department.
Music was provided by Teresa Halverson, soloist, and Gayle Phillips, pianist. Mrs. Halverson sang "How Beautiful" and "The Lord's Prayer." The grandparents were seated to "Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" while "Ode to Joy" was played for the seating of the mothers. "Edelweiss" was used for the procession of the attendants and the bride entered to "Canon in D." "Wedding March" was played for the recessional.
The sanctuary was decorated with red Gerbera daisies, red roses, palms, ferns and Italian ruscus. The two front pews were enhanced with white bows and Bells of Ireland.
Escorted and given in marriage by her father, Joey Poole, the bride was attired in a white A-line gown trimmed with delicate beadwork and flowers from the bodice to the hemline of the cathedral train. The strapless bodice, embellished with sequins and pearls, was highlighted by a white satin ribbon that wrapped around the bodice with a crystal broach in the center. Her headpiece of crystals and pearls held a two-tier finger-tip veil with a scalloped beaded edge. She carried a bouquet of red roses enhanced with white stephanotis.
The bride was attended by her sister, Ashley Poole, of Myrtle Beach as maid of honor. The groom's sister, Hope Owens, of Gaffney served as matron of honor. Katherine Fowler of Gaffney, a friend of the bride, was bridesmaid.
The attendants were attired in floor-length claret chiffon dresses that draped in the front and back. Each carried a single red Gerbera daisy accented with baby's breath and Bells of Ireland.
Hannah Faith Owens of Gaffney, niece of the groom, was the flower girl. Her ivory dress was trimmed with black flowers and circled with a black satin ribbon sash that tied into a bow in the back.
Mikey Owens of Gaffney, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.
Dusty Kite of Gaffney attended the groom as best man. Groomsman were Michael Owens of Gaffney, brother-in-law of the groom, and Brandon Gibson of Gaffney, a friend of the groom.
Mr. and Mrs. Harrison are making their home in Gaffney after a wedding trip to Waikiki Beach, Hawaii.
Mrs. Harrison is the daughter of Suzanne and Patrick Oden of Charleston and Joey and Brenda Poole of Gaffney. Her grandparents are Joyce Poole of Gaffney, Mr. and Mrs. David Cooper, all of Gaffney, and the late Joe Poole.
The bride graduated from Myrtle Beach High School in 2004 and is a student at Spartanburg Community College. She is employed by Spartanburg County.
Mr. Harrison is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Richard Harrison of Gaffney and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wiley H. Harrison and the late Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Parris. The groom graduated from Gaffney High School in 2001, attended Spartanburg Community College and is employed by UPS.
