Altrusa announces scholarship

Altrusa International Inc. of Gaffney has announced it will award a scholarship for the fall semester. The scholarship is restricted to students who will enroll in a program of human services, healthcare or education leading to a bachelor's degree.

Candidates for the scholarship must be Cherokee County residents, a high school senior already accepted into one of the above mentioned programs or a college student already enrolled in one of the above mentioned programs.

To apply, applicants must send a letter to Altrusa International of Gaffney which contains their name, address and telephone number; a description of the educational program they are attending; a brief statement of career and/or personal goals after their education is complete; grade point average; and any scholarships already received.

All applications must be postmarked no later than May 21, 2008. The scholarship will be announced May 30. Mail applications to: Altrusa International of Gaffney, P.O. Box 1013, Gaffney, S.C.
