Camp for visually impaired

It's that time of year again. The S.C. Commission for the Blind is accepting applications for its 2008 Summer Teen Camp. All applications must be received by May 2.

This four-week camp will run from June 15-July 18 and is open to blind and visually impaired teens who are active clients of the S.C. Commission for the Blind. Campers must be at least 16 year of age and enrolled in high school (public, private, S.C. School for the Deaf and Blind, or homeschooled).

The S.C. Commission for the Blind Summer Teen Camp is designed to help blind and visually impaired teens gain the necessary skills to become successful adults. During their stay at the Ellen Beach Mack Rehabilitation Center, located at the S.C. Commission for the Blind, campers will have the opportunity to reinforce their orientation and mobility skills, home management skills and workplace skills.

For more information or to have an application mailed, contact the S.C. Commission for the Blind at 1-800-922-2222.
