Gary Smiley

GARDEN CITY - Gary Wayne Smiley, 55, of 11 Shamrock Circle, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2008, in Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.

Born in Spartanburg, he was the son of Bobby Eugene Smiley, stepson of Betty Parker Smiley of Gaffney and son of Ina Fowler Smiley of Gaffney. He was the husband of Teresa Gardner Smiley of the home. Mr. Smiley was a carpenter and was of the Southern Baptist faith.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by a brother, Bobby Smiley Jr. and wife, Lisa, of Gaffney; two stepbrothers, Jimmy Fowler of Spartanburg and David Fowler and wife, Kathy, of Gaffney; and two sisters, Diane Peterson and husband, Bill, of Cowpens and Donna Smiley and husband, Keith Sisk, of Spartanburg.

The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday, April 19, at Blakely Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow in the funeral home chapel at 2 p.m., conducted by the Revs Todd Black and Nicholas King.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home, 686 Jeff Davis Drive, Spartanburg, S.C. 29303.

The family will be at the home of Bill and Diana Peterson, 110 Crystal Lane, Cowpens.
