Limestone College announces concerts
The Limestone College Music Department will end the academic year with several concerts. All will be in Fullerton Auditorium and are free and open to the public.
On Saturday, April 19, the alumni band and chorus, composed of former members of Limestone's choruses and ensembles, will present a concert at 2:30 p.m. as part of the college's Alumni Weekend Celebration. On Sunday, April 20, at 3 p.m. Dr. Leon Couch, Converse College organist and a nationally recognized music scholar, will perform an organ recital. Couch presents organ recitals, master classes, and lecture-recitals throughout the United States.
The Limestone College Wind Ensemble, conducted by Limestone College Assistant Professor of Instrumental Music Education Dr. Doug Presley, will present its spring program Tuesday, April 22, at 7:30 p.m. The show will feature Dr. David Hamilton as the stage guest conductor. A lively program with a wide selection of music will include The Gallant Seventh March by John Phillip Sousa, Overture to Candide by Leonard Bernstein, Pastime with Good Company by King Henry VIII, and many others.
