Carolyn Ann Jolly Hardin

Former Miss Gaffney, first runner-up to Miss S.C.

Carolyn Ann Jolly Hardin, 75, formerly of Gaffney, passed away Friday, April 18, 2008, at Spartanburg Hospital for Restorative Care.

Born in Gaffney, Ms. Hardin was a daughter of the late William Osier Jolly Sr. and the late Lillie Moore Jolly. She was a homemaker and member of West End Baptist Church. She was a former Miss Gaffney and was first runner-up to Miss South Carolina. She was a Christian lady and loving mother who enjoyed flowers and cooking. She was a pianist who was especially fond of classical as well as gospel music.

Surviving are her son, Desmond G. Jolly of Gaffney; two daughters, Pam fowler of Kiawah Island and Kay Kervin of Birmingham, Ala.; a special niece, Alice J. Hockley of Mt. Clemmons, Mich., and three great-nieces, Kim, Tamara and Jamie.

Ms. Hardin was preceded in death by a brother, W.O. Jolly Jr., and two sisters, Vivian Fox and Doris Cornett.

Services were held Sunday, April 20, at 2 p.m. at Shuford- Hatcher Chapel at Frederick Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Revs. Vernon Mullinax and Rodney Cook. Visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. preceding the service. Interment was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
