      Dear Annie: I recently discovered that my husband is addicted to painkillers. He buys them illegally from people (he calls them "friends") on the street. I have noticed a marked change in his personality since he's been taking the drugs. I know this is common in drug abusers, but I need to clarify whether his behavior constitutes emotional abuse.

Rescued Cenora Stevenson from burning home on Christmas Eve
      Pastor Freddy Davidson and Ebenezer Baptist Church recently honored four of the City of Gaffney's finest for saving the life of one of their eldest members, Cenora Stevenson, from her burning home on South Logan Street on Christmas Eve.

DHEC encourages citizens to learn how to save lives during Stroke Awareness Month
      COLUMBIA - May is National Stroke Awareness Month, and the S.C. Department of Health and Environmental Control urges South Carolinians to learn how to reduce the risk of stroke. "Reducing risk factors, recognizing the signs of stroke and fast reaction saves lives," said Dory Masters, director of DHEC's Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Division.
