Church honors four of Gaffney's finest
Rescued Cenora Stevenson from burning home on Christmas Eve

Pastor Freddy Davidson and Ebenezer Baptist Church recently honored four of the City of Gaffney's finest for saving the life of one of their eldest members, Cenora Stevenson, from her burning home on South Logan Street on Christmas Eve.
Lt. Douglas Bowers, Driver- Engineer Chris Moss, Firefighter Scotty Richards and Firefighter Matt Davis was recognized during a special ceremony held in their honor during the 11:15 morning worship service. A plaque detailing their bravery and valor and other gifts were presented to each of them by Pastor Davidson and Chairman of Deacons, John F. White.
Mrs. Stevenson's family delivered heartfelt remarks as they fought back tears of joy and expressed their deepest gratitude to the four firefighters.
Although Mrs. Stevenson later passed away, her church family, family members and friends continue to say "thank you" to these four courageous firemen for they realize that in honoring them, they honor all the men and women who risk their lives daily to save the lives of others, other's homes and other's possession.
