Summer hoop league registration continues

Registration is continuing at SageSport, the Boys and Girls Club and the Recreation District for the Cherokee County Summer Youth Basketball League. The league is for boys and girls ages 5 to 17. You also can sign up by calling Chris Dewberry at 488-9596 or Laymond Dewberry at 425-5860.

Hooters of Gastonia/Elite Sportswear/SSO Softball will hold The Lincoln County Bash Softball tournament on Saturday, May 3 at the Lincolnton City Park. Spaces are limited to the first eight teams to enter. Class E teams only. Contact Shane at 704-445-8566 or Barry at 704-445- 6553.

Tech One improved to 4-0 with a 17-9 victory over VFW in Major League action.

Evan McCurry allowed two hits and struck out 10 in two innings. Jacob Gibson pitched two innings.

McCurry, Gibson, Jake Morgan and Brooke Hope all tripled, while Alex Raines and Hope both doubled for the winners.
