City council will discuss property sale

A private company wants to take some real estate off the city's hands.

Gaffney City Council will hear a report today from administrator James Taylor concerning the possible sale of city property.

Sources close to the situation said the property to be discussed is the city incinerator site. The property, which is near the city's public works department, is where the city burned its trash, sources said.

There's a good chance the city will approve the sale because the property is no longer in use by the city, the sources said.
