Teen arrested for discharging firearm in city
The Gaffney Police Department reported the arrest of an 18-year-old man Wednesday evening for discharging a firearm within city limits and a violation of South Carolina gun laws.
According to an incident report, an officer observed a tan Chevrolet Caprice traveling on Marion Avenue that matched the description of a vehicle involved in a weapon discharge call that occurred minutes earlier. Police stopped the vehicle at Marion Avenue and Broad Street.
During a search, police said they found a loaded .32-caliber handgun underneath the seat of the driver, 18-year-old Jamarcus Gregory, of 9th Street, who was arrested and transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center. Gregory's bond had not been set as of Thursday afternoon.
