Dora Elizabeth Phillips Roberson

Dora Elizabeth Phillips Roberson, 95, a resident of Peachtree Centre, formerly of 415 Pecan Street, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Peachtree Centre.

Born in Gaffney, she was the daughter of the late Summie Phillips, Sr. and Ida Belle Richardson Phillips and widow of the late Joe Lee Roberson.

Mrs. Roberson was retired from the textile industry and was a member of Kirby Memorial Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Jimmy C. Roberson and wife, Judy, of Gaffney and Russell Dwayne Roberson and wife, Mary Ann, of Yulee, FL; a daughter-in-law, Sue Roberson, of Harrisburg, NC; two sisters, Annie Scruggs and Christine Phillips, both of Gaffney; six grandchildren, Barry Roberson and wife, Dawn, of Monroe, NC, Gerri Martin and husband, Lee, Rae Whisenant and husband, Larry, and Todd Roberson, and wife, Tonia, all of Gaffney, William J. Roberson and Richard C. Roberson, both of Moore, OK; and 17 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Johnnie H. Roberson and Billy Joe Roberson.

The family received friends from 10 until 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at Blakely Funeral Home. Funeral services were held in the Blakely Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., immediately following the visitation, and were conducted by Rev. Rich Lancaster and Rev. Martin Hogg.

Interment was in Frederick Memorial Gardens.

The family will be at the home of Jimmy and Judy Roberson, 404 Old Pros Drive, Gaffney, SC.
