MUSEUM OPENS
The Cherokee County History and Arts Museum will hold its grand opening Saturday.
The museum will open on the same day as the sixth annual Potters on Gaffney's Old Field fundraiser.
Both events will be held from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. at 301 College Drive.
Admission to the museum is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
Pottery show tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for children.
TRACTORS & HORSES
The Broad River Antique Power Association is hosting its 6th annual Plow Day & Tractor Pull on Saturday on Twin Lakes Road.
Tractors, trucks, mules and horses will be present along with opportunities to take one of many hay rides during the day.
There is no charge for admission, although donations that will go to Cherokee County Meals on Wheels and the Cherokee County Special Olympics will be accepted at the gate.

ANOTHER SHINDIG
The ongoing concert series "Shindig at the Cabin" continues Friday night at the Michael Gaffney Cabin. The group Kelley & The Cowboys will perform classic country and swing hits from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
Kelley Breiding and her band come to Gaffney from Mount Airy, N.C., where they have been immersed in old-time music and early country roots for most, or all, of their lives, giving them a nostalgic feel to their music that just can't be found in the music of today.
BAR H RODEO
Dust off your cowboy hat and shine your boots. It's rodeo time at the Bar H Arena in Boiling Springs, N.C.
The 21st annual Bar H Championship Rodeo and Country Festival will be held Friday, May 16 and Saturday, May 17.
The country festival will begin each day at 6 p.m. The rodeos will begin at 8 p.m.
Admission is $12 for adults and $6 for children ages 6 to 12.
