      Donna McKinney Southgate of Gaffney and Michael Keith Woods of Inman were married Saturday, May 10, 2008, at Cherokee Avenue Baptist Church Family Life Center. The bride's father, the Rev. Alester McKinney, and Dr. Clyde Thomas officiated the double ring ceremony at 11:30 a.m. A reception, given by the bride's parents, followed.

      Shady Grove Baptist Church will celebrate its 127th anniversary Sunday, May 18, with a special service at 11 a.m. Pastor Lee Byers will deliver the sermon and the Shady Grove Gospel Choir will present special music. Other program highlights will be recognition of the church's senior members and a presentation of the church history since its beginning in 1881.
