Reception, book signing will honor former Circle of Grace pastor May 18

Rev. Moore Rev. Moore The Rev. George Truett Moore, former pastor of Circle of Grace Lutheran Chapel, will be present Sunday, May 18, to lead the 9:30 a.m. worship service. Pastor Moore served Circle of Grace from Feb. 1, 2003, through Easter Sunday, 2005.

Following the morning service in the Limestone College Chapel, there will a reception and a signing of his latest published book. Rev. Moore has written three books, Preaching is Drama, The Scrolls and the latest on the life of Abraham, Exalted Father.

Pastor Moore has ties to the community that extend beyond his years with the Lutheran community. His grandparents, Wylie Anderson Peeler and Sarah Elmore Peeler, were lifelong residents of Gaffney. They had seven children. The oldest, Eunice Peeler Moore, Rev. Moore's mother, was a graduate of Limestone College.

Exalted Father is the story of the life of a man treasured and honored as the father of the world's three greatest religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam. It is the story of Abraham, a human being struggling with the daily issues of life, searching for the meaning of life. Therefore, it is everyone's story.

As it is recorded, Abraham "went out not knowing where he was to go," traveling from Ur of the Chaldeans to the land of promise. Abraham went out by faith, a reminder that we, too, walk, not by sight but by faith.
