Cherokee County Council signed off Monday on an $18.7 million spending plan that increases property taxes by 2.06 mills. The new property tax rate will be 66.4 mill for county operations. The tax hike would add about eight more dollars to a tax bill on a home valued at $100,000. More...

Dara Thompson appears in the Gaffney Little Theatre's production of the classic musical, The Secret Garden, as Mary Lennox as she joins hands with Lily, long-dead wife of Archibald Craven, portrayed by Meg Foster. Mary, whose parents died of cholera in India, is taken in by Archibald Craven, a bitter hunchback who has been inconsolable since his beloved wife, Lily, died in childbirth. Mary learns that Craven's estate might still contain a wonderful English garden, and when she discovers the garden she has many surprises in store for her. Strength coach will work with all GHS athletic teams
