D.B. Wilkie

Dewey Bobby (D.B.) Wilkie, 67, formerly of 159 Wilkie Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 20, 2008, at Brookview Healthcare.

Born in Gaffney, he was the son of the late Dewey S. Wilkie and Ollie Pearl Spencer Wilkie. He was the owner/operator of R&W Floor Covering Company and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by a stepson, James Spearman III and wife, Michelle, of Gaffney; a stepdaughter, Brook Wilson and husband, Bob Jr., of Gaffney; three brothers, James Wilkie and wife, Hazel, Clarence Wilkie and wife, Shirley, and Buford Wilkie and wife, Sherry, all of Gaffney; three sisters, Lorie Pierce of the home, Lois Dillinger of Chester and Gladys Lamb of Gaffney; and three stepgrandchildren; Kyle Byars, Alexis Wilson and Taylor Wilson.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilkie was preceded in death by three sisters, Marie Reynolds, Carolyn Robinson and Edna Cooper, and a brother, Forrest Wilkie.

Services will be held at Thursday, May 22, at 4 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church, conducted by Dr. Dwight Easler and the Rev. William Blanton. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 21, from 6-8 p.m. at Blakely Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

The family will be at his residence, 159 Wilkie Road.
